LIZ KERNOHAN PARK

Public BBQ

A neatly designed park on top of the hill at Elderslie, wedged between the Camden Bypass and Liz Kernohan Drive, with sweeping lines, good gardens and rock features. There is a double gas barbecue, a table tennis table, a shaded eating area, benches, water and a few short walking tracks. The view west and north-west is the best thing about it, and in autumn and winter it makes an excellent place to watch the sun go down. There are no public toilets anywhere nearby, which in practice makes it a park for locals rather than a destination. The monument itself sits outside the park, beside the bypass. Quiet and well kept.
